We Sponsored the Event “Oman Transport Infrastructure Summit 2013”.

STFA Construction Group has become a sponsor for the “Oman Transport Infrastructure 2013,” that took place in Oman Muscat Grand Hyatt Hotel between September 8-10, 2013, discussing infrastructure projects in Oman.

Mandated by Omani Ministry of Transportation, the event was attended by senior officers from a number of ministries and municipalities, as well as by many international construction companies.

Mr. Mısırlıoğlu (Vice President of STFA) gave a presentation titled “Challenged in Transportation Projects – A Contractor’s Perspective.”

New Project In Oman

We received an invitation for the Musannah Fishing Port Project in Oman

We’ve received an invitation from the Sultanate of Oman Ministry of Agriculture & Fisheries Wealth for the“Musannah Fishing Port Project”.

We’ve been informed by the employer with a letter on June 24, 2013 that we’d placed the most suitable bid and that we were invited to sign the contract.

The project is to take place in the city of Musannah, 160 kilometres from Muscat. It will include the building of a 150 metre-long dock and a 1627 metre-long breakwater, as well as sweeping works as low as 5 metres below the water surface.

Seniority Award Ceremony

STFA Recognizes Years of Service to the Company

Following a tradition started in 1989, STFA recently honoured 137 employees of the STFA Construction Group at a seniority awards ceremony held at STFA headquarters.  At the ceremony, plaques were awarded to the honourees in recognition of 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 40 years of service. The awards were given by STFA Investment Holding Honorary President Tomris Taskent, Board Members Sezai Taskent, Alp Taskent, Nur Taskent and STFA Construction Group President Mustafa Karakus.

STFA Investment Holding Chairman Ilker Keremoglu, CEO Mehmet Ali Neyzi, Construction Group President Mustafa Karakus and Human Resources Vice President Ozer Erman gave speeches on the occasion.  STFA Investment Holding Honorary President Tomris Taskent was also recognized for her service to the company with a special plaque.

After the ceremony, everyone was invited to a cocktail party held to welcome the new year.

Established by Sezai Turkes and Feyzi Akkaya, legendary names in the construction industry in Turkey, STFA continues to be a leader in that sector.  Under its new management, STFA has undertaken significant construction projects in Turkey and the Middle East.  It has maintained its dominance and expertise in sea constructions such as ports, piers, docks and infrastructure works such as roads, bridges and tunnels.  Together with Energaz Company, it is the second biggest private company engaged in natural gas distribution in the country.  The seniority awards ceremony recognizes the men and women who have helped make STFA the  “Company of Innovations” that it is today.

STFA is in the First 100 of “ENR 2010” List

STFA finds a place in ENR, which is published in States, journal’s top 225 international contractors list over the last 20 years. Rising its place 18 steps this year STFA is 96. in the first 100.

Previous year STFA also rised its place 35 steps and as it is seen that either increasing the international turnover or rising the place at the lists, STFA is one of the pioneer companies. Additionally, this year it is seen also that, STFA is one of the two top Turkish Contractor companies at both total and international turnover growth.

Gabbro Berth Expansion in Qatar

STFA & JDN Consortium has received the Letter Of Award for the Gabbro Berth Expansion (Package 1) in Qatar

STFA Deniz İnşaatı İnşaat San ve Tic. A.Ş (STFA Marine Construction Co.) and Jan De Nul Consortium has received a letter of award on the 22 April 2008 for the “Engineering, Procurement, Installation and Commissioning for Gabbro Berth Expansion (Package1) at Mesaieed Port”.

STFA is the leader of the consortium and the Client is Qatar Petroleum Company.

The total value of the project is QR 1.883.003.415 (518.733.723 USD) and STFA’s part shall be QR 942.665.092 (259.687.353 USD).

The effective date of the project is 01 May 2008, and the period for completion the works shall be 24 months.

The scope of the project shall consist of, widening of existing channel to Gabbro Berths, deepening of existing basin at Gabbro Berths 1 and 2, dredging of new basin for new Gabbro Berth 3, construction of the 400 m long new quay wall for Gabbro Berth 3, filling and reclamation behind the quay wall, storm drainage, paving of the berth area, piling under crane rail beams, procurement, design and manufacture of Ship to Shore Cranes, construction of substation and carrying out related electrical works.

STFA Deniz İnşaat Continues its Projects in Qatar with Berth 6

STFA Deniz İnşaatı İnşaat San ve Tic. A.Ş has signed a contract with Fluor Mideast Limited for Common Lean LNG Loading Facilities Berth No: 6 in Ras Laffan, Qatar on 02 November 2007

Qatargas Operating Company Limited is developing an integrated lean LNG storage and loading facility at Ras Laffan Industrial City located on the northeast coast of Qatar.

Phase 6 of this project consists of adding a new dock facility for loading lean LNG from LNG tanks. Phase 6 specifically includes:

A 580 m long LNG Berth 6 Abutment and Tie-in to New Main Breakwater

LNG Loading Platform Block Foundation, with Cast Reinforced Concrete (CRC) cap.

Four (4) Breasting Dolphins on Block Foundations with CRC caps equipped with fenders and quick release hooks (double) with capstan.

Eight (8) Mooring Dolphins on Block Foundations with CRC caps equipped with quick release hooks (quadruple) with capstan.

The value of the project is 144,870,831 USD and the period for completion of the Works will be 16 months.

Manifa Causeway

STFA is to take part in Manifa Causeway

Jan De Nul NV had applied for the tender of Saudi Aramco’s Manifa Oil Field Redevelopment (Engineering, Procurement and Fabrication of Manifa Causeway) Project together with STFA Marine Construction Company on 28.November.2006.  The value of the tender was 1,005,000,000 US Dollars and with this price Jan De Nul NV has been awarded the project and signed a contract with Aramco on 4.February.2006.

The aim of the project is to construct 27 drilling islands at Persian Gulf, Manifa Region and to link these islands to each other and also to the land by a causeway consisting of roads, bridges and culverts in order to transfer the oil that shall be drilled from the islands by a pipeline.

Following the contract signature with Saudi Aramco, Jan De Nul NV has signed an EPC back to back contract with STFA Marine Construction Company for a value of 202,500,000 US Dollars at STFA Business Center in Istanbul on 2.March.2007.

The contract of STFA covers the design and construction of pavement and infrastructure works of 41km causeway, north and south berths and also ro-ro facility. The main work items of the causeway are the construction of a main bridge with 2.4km length, 5 nos of bridges each having 180m length and construction of 8 nos of precast culverts consisting of 250 nos of 5mx3mx3m segments.

Artell Koytür BUYAKA Projects

STFA has received the Temporary Completion Certificate for the 1st and 2 nd Phase of the Artell Koytür BUYAKA Projects Building Pit Construction.

For the shoring works of The Artell Koytür Çekmeköy Residence’s Phase 1 and Phase 2 Foundation Pits, STFA has received The Temporary Completion Certificate on 1 March 2007. The contract was signed on 15 June 2006 between STFA Temel Pile Construction Co. And Artell Koytür Tourism Construction Industry and Trade Co.

The project scope also covered the soil improvement works of the foundations for 3 towers with 28 storeys. Design process continues in guidance of the accomplished soil investigations.
