Khan Academy is awarded as the “Best of the Best”

At the beginning of the new school year, we would like to share two great news with you from Khan Academy. Gathering most votes for the highest brand reputation and user satisfaction, Khan Academy ranked first under the Education category of America’s Best of the Best 2024, researched in collaboration with Statista and published by Newsweek.

World-renowned Newsweek Magazine announces the most reputable brands as a result of research conducted across different sectors every year. Its recently published new report brings together different sectors and includes only the most reputable brands from America’s Best of the Best research, conducted for the first time in 2024. Including leader organizations in their respective sectors which have previously received full score reviews from their users, the list was prepared by re-evaluating brands that excel in user experience in line with criteria such as brand reputation, brand image, users’ trust in the brand and security.

Shaped by 150,000 reviews given by more than 24,000 users, the research is based on an independent survey conducted by experts. In its very first year, the Best of the Best list awards around 500 brands globally in various areas such as food, travel, fashion, and electronics in 156 different categories. Under each category, three to five brands are ranked in relevant sectors to be awarded.
Khan Academy, which previously received the highest rating of 5 stars in this year’s America’s Top Online Learning Providers list published by Newsweek, ranked first in the “Tutoring Services” category under the “Work, Education and Childcare” heading on the new America’s Best of the Best list.

Meanwhile, another important list was announced last week by the Time Magazine: The 100 Most Influential People in AI 2024. Kristen DiCerbo, represented Khan Academy on the list, and she was featured on the cover of Time Magazine for her contributions to the development of artificial intelligence in educational technologies.

Khan Academy’s AI-assisted learning tool Khanmigo, was developed with the leading AI technologies in collaboration with OpenAI. In simplest terms, Khanmigo is a virtual tutor for students and a virtual assistant for teachers. Highlighting the correct use of AI in the field of education to support equal access for all learners, Khan Academy aims to deliver an application that would serve as a model in its field. This AI-assisted learning tool provides instant feedback to students, therefore maximizes personalized learning experience, while at the same time assisting teachers on daily tasks such as analyzing student data or preparing lesson plans.

Time Magazine underlines that Khan Academy’s contributions to the field are not limited to the platform’s users, but it also contributes to the U.S. Department of Education through the sharing of experience, and to the best practices in the use of AI in education around the world. As a non-profit organization, Khan Academy’s main goal is to support safe and responsible development and socially beneficial use of innovative educational technologies such as AI.
